Video Search Engine Optimization (VSEO)

It's fairly well known in SEO/SEM circles that video is one of the most powerful and most relevant forms of media available online. Video can be used effectively for SEO purposes (referred to as VSEO) however, optmization with and for video involves some important distinctions from traditional SEO. The thing to remember with video (assuming it is done in an interesting way) is that, as content, by it's very nature, it's viral. Search engine spiders don't index the video content itself, but just the meta info associated with it. While it is important to pay attention to the meta data associated with video, that isn't the whole picture. In other words, as an online media, video gets popular when it is shared and that is the key to it's real power in delivering site traffic.
