SEOBook Review

Well, I bet you you never thought I would get around to finishing this SEOBook review, eh? Balderdash, I wouldn't dream of it. In fact, Part 2 is the best part, because I am going to show you essentially what all is contained in the SEOBook training program. Okay, I can't show you everything, but I can illustrate for you what all is included, what topics are covered, and give you some details about the tools, videos, interviews, coupons for free stuff, main categories of training modules, did I mention the free stuff yet? You get the picture. So again I say, without further ado, I bring you:

Okay, so that covers the basic categories. Each  of the bolded headings above, within the backoffice of SEOBook, is actually linked to a sub-set of learning modules. And this probably deserves a little more detail.

SEOBook is actually comprised of over 100 individual training modules. These modules can be accessed at any time by members, in any order they prefer. They are organized into the main categories above, each of which when clicked on, present a whole new subset of links to the actual training modules themselves.

For example, here are the modules and information available under the first category:

Summary / Overview

  • Putting SEO in Context is a background article about how SEO fits into the web as a whole.
  • The SEO quick start checklist is an action item oriented condensed version of the program overview.
  • The The Expanded Checklist highlights the various topics and training modules covered in the SEO training program.
  • The SEO training site map helps you visualize and locate all the various sections of our training program from 1 page.

And, in the 2nd category, called SEO Training, we have:

Search Engine Optimization

At one point in time SEO was something you could bolt onto a website to make an average or below average website rank as though it was best in class. In some cases that can still be done, but it is getting harder (and less profitable) each day.

As the web gets more competitive, effective SEO techniques will be viewed as a subset of marketing. With that in mind, we decided to create a full featured forward looking SEO training program covering: keyword selection, domain names, on page optimization, copywriting, blogging, site architecture, usability, analytics, PPC advertising, public relations, viral marketing, and link building.

Many of the concepts that relate to SEO but are not core to SEO are covered in other modules. Modules in the SEO training section include:

  • Why Search is so Powerful. Introduction article explains why search is unlike any other type of marketing.
  • Writing for Search Engines. Includes information about keyword research, on page optimization, user interaction with search results, site architecture, and robots control.
  • Off Site SEO. Includes many modules about link building, web directories, social interaction, blogging, and viral marketing.
  • Search Engines. Compares and contrasts how to optimize for engines like Google, Yahoo! Search, and Microsoft's Live Search. Also discusses search engine submission, the history of search, and vertical search.
  • Buying and selling SEO services. Tips to help make the transaction go as smooth as possible either way.
  • Buying & Selling SEO
  • Off Site SEO
  • Search Engines
  • Writing for Search Engines
  • Why Search is Such a Powerful Marketing Channel

Keep in mind, every bullet, and every major subject or item within those bullets, would be linked to a complete learning module unto itself. I am simply showing you examples of the main navigation that points to a relateively small percentage of the 100 training modules you receive as part of the SEOBook training program. Folks, if it isn't entirely obvious by now, this is a ton of information (very useful, actionable information by a top expert in the field of Search.)

In addition to the training modules, as I mentioned before, you receive a member forum, and Aaron Wall's blog (okay, that's free to all regardless of membership, but still very valuable.)

As I have mentioned elsewhere in this SEOBook review, Aaron makes very good use of video and audio in his training. Many modules begin with or contain an overview video that walks you through the written material, so that you have the choice of passive visual learning or active reading - or a combination of both, which I personally like best.

Speaking of video, eventually I intend to fire up my webcam, camtasia, or a similar tool and provide some video augmentation to this review. However, that will have to wait for another day.

I will close part 2 of this SEObook review by saying very simply that SEOBook might possibly be the most complete SEO training program available for the money, by such an accomplished and highly regarded SEO professional. I can't say enough about the value, as well as sheer volume, of the information it provides. I think it is obvious by now that I highly recommend you try it immediately. The knowledge and tools you gain from it can and will (if applied) yield an incredible ROI and will easily pay for itself in 1 to 3 months if you work diligently, and possibly sooner depending on how competitive your niche or vertical happens to be.
